Photographer Jim Denmark attended the Kodak School of Photography in Georgia learning composition and learning his way around film and dark rooms. That opened up a new world for him. From there he was shooting images and documenting his adventures, carrying his camera just about everywhere he went, then returning home to develop his images. These spectacular images capture one of many adventures with his brother L. Polk Denmark and friends to Coastal North Carolina circa 1914.
These images were captured originally on large format film, the negatives still project their stories as they did in times past. Each photograph details a candid glance into our immediate past and preserves it for generations of viewers. Because of our appreciation of traditional fine portraiture, these images are an expressive contribution towards “defining photographic and social change at the dawn of the 21st Century.”
These images and more are available in our store.
